Smart Manufacturing Asia Conference

Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre

As South East Asian economies vie for a share of the regional industrial manufacturing, an integration of IoT, combined with effective conversion to higher automation, alongside improved M2M communications and advanced manufacturing technologies will lead to cost-efficient production to meet the region's surging demand. Obvious early movers in integrating such key exponential technologies are from precision engineering manufacturing, MRO and aerospace, oil & gas, marine and offshore, pharma and semiconductor industries. Industry leaders from these major manufacturing firms will be presenting best practices at the Smart Manufacturing Asia Conference, organised by Singapore Exhibition Services and supported by SPETA. Running from 17-19 August at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, the event will provide the region’s first such networking platform in featuring multiple perspectives, with presenters set to include senior executives from technology firms Google, SAP, Wipro and Booz Allen Hamilton amongst others. Policy makers from EDB, Singapore, MIDA (Malaysia); Board of Investment (Thailand), and Ministry of Industry (Indonesia) will all be presenting the automation-friendly policies being promoted in their respective countries and will share the directions needed to improve productivity in a panel discussion moderated by Germany Trade & Invest. Case studies presented by Rolls Royce, GE Healthcare, Thales, Schaeffler, Bosch, Siemens, Fraunhofer and Larsen & Toubro are expected to generate discussions on how productivity can be efficiently enhanced via exponential technologies.

Cape Industries Showcase (CIS 2016)

CTICC, Cape Town, South Africa

Africa has become a world focus for oil & gas exploration with a series of discoveries over the past five years, making it one of the most exciting and under-developed continents in the world. The eighth largest shale gas reserves globally can be found in South Africa, and 100 trillion cubic feet of gas have been discovered in Mozambique. Meanwhile, around 500 companies are currently exploring deposits in Africa – a continent that accounts for eight per cent of global oil reserves, with an estimated 100 billion barrels of offshore oil yet to be discovered in Africa, while an expected US$100 billion is to be invested into processing natural gas on the continent in the years ahead. All such statistics point towards an Africa on the ascent – and it is within such a buoyant context that Oil & Gas Africa 2016 returns as the region's sole engineering supply chain expo serving the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. It forms part of the comprehensive Cape Industries Showcase (CIS), which also features Logistics 2016 as well as Maritime & Offshore Marine Africa.
